Type of Rider
This applies both for the real teams in the game and the fictitious teams, and is based on the capacities of the riders, expressed by seven types:
- Time-trial: effective in races against the clock and, more generally, on flat routes.
- Climber: effective on mountainous routes.
- Puncher: effective on hilly routes.
- Northern classics: effective on flat routes with cobblestone sectors.
- Baroudeur: effective on flat routes and in long breakaways.
- Stage races: effective in stage races, with a good balance between mountain and time-trial.
- Sprinter: effective in bunched finishes, usually on the flat, where blistering pace does the talking.
